Where Does FASTRAY® Fit Into Existing Markets?

Being part of the electrical industry and manufacturing ladder style cable tray components we discovered a “gap” in the choice of cable tray products available. Typical products available include a light duty instrument tray, which is primarily used for low voltage and data cable systems, and of course the heavy-duty industrial ladder style cable tray.

Instrument tray has been widely used for light duty applications but due to its lightweight construction it does have its limitations. One of its largest obstacles is the fact that it is not CSA approved and therefore not suitable for some applications and frowned upon by many inspectors. The sidewalls on instrument tray are typically 1”-1.5” tall which limits the size and depth of cables it can support. Furthermore, it is only available in widths up to 6” and due to availability fittings are often manufactured on site from straight sections.

Ladder style cable tray is very strong and is available in various sizes up to 42” wide and 6” deep, but it is very expensive and due to its larger sidewall and bulkier profiles, it is often overkill for commercial projects, control centers, data and telecom applications.

FASTRAY® is designed to give contractors, engineers and architects an option for applications where instrument channel is too lightweight and ladder style tray is overkill.
